SEWING CLASSES BY LEIGHLOE
Join our Sewing Class and learn sewing techniques which will allow you to create beautiful and individual pieces. Our sewing classes start at Beginner level and for those who have more experienced we’d like to welcome you in our Intermediate level classes Classes with Leighloe will give you the freedom to develop skills in a comfortable and positive environment. With a maximum of 2 clients per class, ensures you receive personal attentive tuition.
BEGINNER LEVEL
Sign up for Leighloe beginner sewing classes and learn the basic ins and outs on how to create your own.
- How to thread and operate a basic home sewing machine.
- How to sew even, straight stitches and troubleshoot problems.
- Professional seam finishes, including gorgeous French and bias bound seams.
- How to choose the right fabrics for your sewing projects.
- How to set-up and stock your sewing space, including the best tools to get the job done.
- How to prepare fabric and cut out your pattern with confidence.
- Basic hand-sewing skills for a flawless finish.
- The key skills to construct patterns included with the class, including zippers, pockets, facings, waistbands, hems, darts, sleeves, buttons and buttonholes, among many more!
Intermediate LEVEL
If you already got experience you can sign up for Leighloe Intermediate Level classes to fine tune your skills and become a professional
- How to decipher and easily work with sewing patterns (including how to assemble digital patterns).
- How to take your measurements, choose a size and do basic pattern modifications to get the best fit.
- Sewing components – creating neat seam finishes, buttonholes/button applications, zipper sewing curves and points.
- How to line your garments
- Understand and demystify sewing patterns including their mysterious language and symbols.
- Draft more detailed garments and add in unique details to them.
- By the end, you will be able to sew clothes of all kinds!
